Nursery Schools

RIPPLE Africa is supporting six local nursery schools. We have helped with building work and supplies, and we pay the monthly salaries of the 18 teachers with the help of the Thompson Taraz Charitable Trust. These nursery schools really are important — not only are they providing a good start for the pre-school children, but it is also a place of hope for the orphans who receive daily care from the teachers. There is a noticeable improvement in the level of education at the local primary school because children have had the benefit of attending these nursery schools where they have gained a valuable grounding in the basics before they start their primary education. We want to continue helping these wonderful teachers and children by supplying books, pens, toys, etc.

Some of our overseas volunteers help out at the nursery schools and have been involved with teaching. They have also painted some colourful pictures on the walls which have helped to make the nursery schools really fun places to be. If you would be interested in helping to teach at one of the nursery schools, and/or you would be able to give the teachers some training about how to teach young children of nursery school age, please click here for more information.
