Much of our income comes from amazing people like you, and we really couldn’t make such a life-changing difference in Malawi without your help and support.
Fundraising for Ripple Africa
We have been lucky to have worked with amazing volunteers who, on our behalf, have arranged things such as plant sales, cake sales, organised a 1960s fundraising evening, run marathons and half marathons, immersed themselves in mud whilst enduring an assault courses and climbed mountains, to name but a few.
Do Your Own Thing!
Why not organise your own event? Don’t worry – we can help you all the way! Take a look at our A-Z Fundraising Ideas. Would you like to give yourself a challenge? Maybe accomplish great things on a personal level while advancing the work of Ripple Africa in Malawi at the same time. Equally, if you are not up to a fitness challenge, then have fun, perhaps a bake sale, afternoon tea or dinner party. Take a look at our Fundraising Pack for some ideas.
Your challenge can be uniquely yours and ANYTHING that will stretch and test your resolve. The sky’s the limit so let the creative juices flow! You may want to compete in a one-time event or spread it out over a period of days or weeks. It is up to you to decide how best to meet your goals while factoring in lifestyle and other constraints.
You can set up your online page to use as a tool in your fundraising efforts.
Here are some of our favourites!
- Africantastic!: Why not add a bit of sunshine to those cold winter nights and hold an Africantastic Party?
- High Tea at Three for Malawi: Get together with friends for a special tea.
- The Great Ripple Bake Off!: Who needs Mary and Paul? Get baking for Ripple – we are only too happy to be tasters!
- Land’s End to John O’ Groats Cycle Challenge: The Ripple Rockets cycled almost 1,000 miles across England, through Wales and into Scotland!
- Pam’s 60 Miles at 60 Walk: To celebrate turning 60, Pam set herself a challenge to prove that 60 is not old! She combined this with her love of canal boats and walked 60 miles along the Oxford Canal.
- Kay’s Cycle Challenge: Kay set herself a personal challenge to cycle 50 miles weekly for the entire month of April.

All Ripple Africa’s work is based in and around the communities in Malawi, so community groups are extremely important to the success of our work in Malawi.
If you belong to a community group, why not support a Malawi community group and make a real difference?
Why not lend your time to raise as much money as possible for Ripple Africa whilst having as much fun as you can through night-time events and curious fancy dress themes?! Volunteering to help Ripple Africa is a great way to enhance your CV as it develops important employable skills, and shows time management and concern for others.
Duke of Edinburgh Award (D of E)
Volunteering is all about making a difference to other people’s lives. Getting off your sofa and taking time out to change things for the better can be great fun.

Religion plays a very important part in Malawian culture with around 80% of the population being Christian.
If your church is interested in supporting our work, why not consider supporting us at Harvest or Christmas time? You can do this either by making Ripple Africa recipients of a collection, or why not set a fundraising target to raise via our Gift Catalogue?
If your church is interested in finding out more about our work, then why not book a member of the Ripple Africa Team to come and give a talk at one of your services or another occasion. They can tell you more about how we work, who we work with, and how you can help. We are passionate about what we do and are happy to share this enthusiasm with you.
