March to Malawi 2012

March to Malawi Fundraising Challenge

We need 40 people, each walking 210 miles (7 miles per week), from March to September 2012 to raise £20,000 for RIPPLE Africa

This is a really exciting challenge and anyone can take part from anywhere in the world — young and old, individuals and couples (download the March to Malawi Fundraising Challenge leaflet). It will help you to keep fit and, at the same time, raise money for the many projects that RIPPLE Africa is running in Malawi.

We are looking for 40 people to walk 7 miles per week for 7 months from March to September 2012 — that’s 210 miles per fundraiser — or you can complete the challenge in less time if you wish. Collectively, we will all walk a total of 8,474 miles, which is the distance from the RIPPLE Africa office in England to the RIPPLE Africa base in Malawi. The target is for each fundraiser to raise at least £500 for RIPPLE Africa.

How to Take Part in This Fundraising Challenge

  1. Register with RIPPLE Africa by sending us an e-mail.
  2. Set up a RIPPLE Africa JustGiving fundraising page (go to the Start Fundraising! page to see how) and get your family and friends to sponsor you.
  3. Download the daily record sheet as either an Excel spreadsheet or a PDF.
  4. Start walking, recording your miles each day, and e-mail us with your monthly total.
